Capathia JenkinsCapathia Jenkins is best known for her role as The Washing Machine in Caroline, or Change. This Brooklyn-born actress made her Broadway debut in The Civil War, where she created the role of Harriett Jackson. She starred in the Off-Broadway revival of Godspell, where she wowed audiences with her stirring rendition of ‘Turn Back, O Man’ which can still be heard on the original cast recording. She returned to Broadway in The Look of Love, and was critically acclaimed for her performances of the hit songs of Hal David and Burt Bacharach, including the title song. She was nominated for a 2007 Drama Desk Award for her role in the one-woman piece (mis)Understanding Mammy. She's also made appearances on television series such as The Practice, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and The Sopranos. Capathia's film credits include Musical Chairs, Off Duty, Chicago, Puccini for Beginners, and Marci X. As a concert soloist, Capathia has performed with prestigious symphony orchestras the world over.
